My final college match

Last week, I played my final college tennis match at our home courts at the California tennis club, and it was an unforgettable experience. The energy from the crowd was electric and since it was the final match from the University of San Francisco men’s tennis team in their program history the stands were filled to the max. I was ready to give it my all and leave it all out there on my senior day.

In my preparation for this match i wanted to stay true to my routine that i used in the prior home matches. My goal was to not get overwhelmed by the feeling that this was my last college match ever. It was hard at first since i started of very nervous in doubles which ultimately led to our defeat but then when singles came around i was able to refocus and let go from the nervousness. I felt confident and determined as I stepped onto the court, knowing this match would be a special one.

The match itself was intense, with each set providing its own set of challenges. My opponent was skilled, pushing me to elevate my game and stay sharp. Key moments, such as a long rallies in the second set, tested my endurance and resilience but also showed me that i have still a lot to work on. In the third set i was able to up my level and generated multiple break chances against a truly skilled opponent at the number one spot. Unfortunately the match was cut short and was left unfinished due to our 2/4 loss but it was truly a special one. I never felt so much support from the crowd and everybody in the team before.

After the match, I was overwhelmed with a deep sense of gratitude for everyone who has been part of my journey. My coaches have been my guiding lights, helping me refine my skills and pushing me to be my best. Their dedication and belief in my potential have been instrumental in shaping me into the player I am today. I owe so much to my teammates, whose camaraderie and support have made every practice and match a rewarding experience. They have been my motivators, always challenging me to strive for excellence and never give up. To my family and friends, thank you for always being there for me. Your encouragement and love have carried me through every win and loss, and I am deeply appreciative of your presence in my life.

This journey wouldn't have been possible without each and every one of you. Thank you for being a part of it and for helping me chase my dreams. Let's continue this incredible journey together! Looking ahead, I'm excited for what's next and ready to take on new challenges. Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more updates on my journey!
